I’m New

We are so glad you are interested in our church! We will try and answer any questions you may have. Below are some of the most common questions we get. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please contact us directly through our Contact Us page.
What time do I need to arrive?
We recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the service you are attending. This will give you plenty of time to park and find your way to the venue.
Sunday Worship Services
Our Contemporary Service is held both online and in the Great Hall of our Welcome Center. It features a blend of Praise & Worship and hymn style music.
Our Traditional Service is held in the Sanctuary. It features traditional style of worship with processional, hymns, acolytes, and liturgy.
Our Sunday small groups begin at 10:00am. Most of our small groups are based on age demographic, but you can absolutely visit whichever would suit your need. We would be happy to help you find a suitable small group!
What do I need to wear?
You are welcome at Albertville First UMC just as you are. On Sundays, we have attenders dressed in suits and dresses, or jeans and t-shirts.
Where do I park?
When you arrive, a parking lot greeter will assist you. If the greeters are not available, there is parking in front of our welcome center, clearly visible from Sand Mountain Drive. We also have parking in the back of our church, adjacent to Glover Street.
How long do your services last?
Each service lasts approximately one hour.
Do you have child care?
Due to Covid-19 concerns, during our Contemporary Service at 8:45am, there is nursery available. For ages 3 and up, we have tables in the back of the Great Hall, set up with coloring books and other objects to keep children preoccupied during the service. As Covid-19 concerns are lifted, we will bring back our Children’s Services.
We do have children and teen small groups beginning at 10:00am.
There is also Children’s worship at 11:00am, during our Traditional Service.
What version of the Bible do you use?
We accept all versions of the Bible that hold true to God’s Word. Our pastor preaches from the 1984 NIV (New International Version).
